Code of Conduct
Our Mission:
To create a safe, respectful, and empowering environment where students can grow physically, mentally, and emotionally through the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
1. Respect Always
-
Show respect to instructors, training partners, staff, and guests at all times.
-
Treat everyone, regardless of rank, age, gender or background with dignity.
2. Mat Etiquette
-
Always wear a clean gi or no-gi attire. Personal hygiene is essential.
-
Keep fingernails and toenails short and clean.
-
No shoes on the mat. No bare feet off the mat.
Tap early and tap often-safety first.
3. Attitude & Behaviour
-
Leave ego at the door. Jiu-Jitsu is for learning, not proving dominance.
-
Support and encourage training partners, regardless of skill level.
-
No bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will be tolerated.
4. Safety Comes First
• Train with control and be aware of your partner's safety.
-
If your partner taps, release the submission immediately.
-
Report injuries or unsafe behaviour to an instructor right away.
-
If you're sick or contagious, stay home out of respect for others.
5. Hygiene & Cleanliness
-
Wash your gi and gear after every training session.
-
Remove all jewellery before training.
-
Cover any open wounds with proper protection.
-
Help keep the academy clean—pick up after yourself and respect the space.
6. Ranking and Progress
-
Trust your instructor's guidance regarding promotions and belt advancement.
-
Focus on learning and growth; rank will come with time, consistency, and attitude.
7. Visitors & Cross-Training
-
Visitors are welcome but must follow all house rules.
-
Represent your school with honour and professionalism wherever you go.
8. Off the Mat
-
Represent Jiu-Jitsu and our school positively in your daily life.
-
Practice self-control, humility, and kindness both inside and outside the academy.
Violations of this Code
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal from the school.
